New Delhi, January 6: Several social media users are sharing a video on the internet which claims that senior Congress Leader Kapil Sibal was slapped outside the court premises. Among others, the video has been shared on Twitter, where, a user wrote, "कल राम मंदिर के फैसले के बाद कपिल सिब्बल को कोर्ट के बाहर किसी ने लपड़ा दिया मतलब 1 थप्पड़ जड़ दिया. इस घटना की पुष्टि करती हुई ये विडियो ऐसी खुश खबरी आपको मीडिया नहीं बताएगी, which translates to, (Yesterday, after Ram Mandir verdict Congress leader Kapil Sibal was slapped by someone outside court. LatestLY Fact Check found the video to be misleading as Sibal was not slapped but was mistakenly hit by a microphone of a Surya Samachar media person. The video has already been retweeted by more than 1,600 people on Twitter.

A full version of the video was also posted on a YouTube channel, SPN9NEWS.

The incident took place outside the Jharkhand High Court in Ranchi where, on Friday, Sibal was briefing media about the hearing of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's fodder scam case. In the video, it can be seen that Sibal was hit by Surya Samachar microphone after which, he can be seen wincing in pain.
