Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the facelifted 2021 E63. The AMG E63 is offered in both sedan and estate body styles and gets new design tweaks along with a better electronic package. However, only the E 63 S will be on offer and that too in limited numbers for India.
The front end has been updated with a new AMG-GT inspired Panamericana grille that is flanked by new LED headlights and gets bigger air curtains on both ends. The profile remains identical to the predecessor. The car also gets new 20-inch alloy wheels while at the rear changes are limited to an addition of a lip spoiler and quad exhaust tips.
On the inside, the cabin remains identical to the outgoing model in terms of design and layout. However, now the AMG E63 gets the new twin-spoke AMG performance heated steering wheel and features like the latest MBUX system and the steering sports an array of buttons giving access to a wide range of driver-assist and infotainment features.
The facelifted AMG E63 also retains the previous version's 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine. The unit produces 596bhp of power and 850 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to nine-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) that sends power to all-four wheels. The AMG E 63 S sedan can do a 0 to 100km/h in just 3.3 seconds while the Wagon does the same in 3.4 seconds.
In other recent Mercedes-Benz news, the company recently launched the all-new 2020 GLS SUV in India. The SUV is available in two variants, both of which are priced at Rs 99.90 lakh, ex-showroom. It gets an updated set of LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, LED tail lights, revised front grille with chrome horizontal slats and the Mercedes-Benz logo at the centre, 21-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, dual exhaust mufflers with chrome bezels out of many.
The 2020 GLS comes in two variants: GLS 450 4MATIC (petrol) and GLS 400d 4MATIC (diesel). The petrol variant is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine, mated to the brand's EQ Boost system and produces 362bhp of power and 500Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the GLS 400d 4 MATIC, is powered by a 2.9-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel engine and produces 362bhp of power and 700Nm of peak torque.
Thoughts About The Facelifted Mercedes-AMG E63
The facelifted Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 is one of the most insane AMG models from the company's portfolio. AMG models have always been about outright performance and character, but with the Mercedes-AMG E63 S, the comfort, luxury and practicality of a saloon, has been taken up a notch higher.
