Martins joined the Nerazzurri in 2001 where he played for their youth set-up before going to joined the scored 49 goals in 134 appearances for the first-team.
During his stint in Italy, the 34-year-old won a Serie A title, two Coppa Italia honours before leaving for English Premier League club Newcastle United.
The former Seattle Sounders and Birmingham City star is still recuperating from a hamstring injury he suffered in AFC Champions League in April.
