Exit polls 2017: BJP confident, Congress predicts close fight

Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will get a clear majority in the state. He said that the party would get more than 21 seats including independent candidates whom the party has supported. In Manipur, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said that the people of Manipur will give a clear mandate to their party. While in Uttarakhand, Congress leader Indira Hridayesh said that she does not believe in the exit poll survey as it could be false. After a month-long fiercely fought election campaign, voting has wrapped up in five states - Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand. Results will be declared on Saturday, March 11.
