Eminent Persons Group meeting on Indo-Nepal relations kick off

The third meeting of Eminent Persons Group on Indo-Nepal relations kick-started in Kathmandu.The meeting which will last for two days, will also discuss various issues of bilateral interests which will help in strengthening the bilateral relations. The key subject of discussion which Nepal wants to be revised is the Peace and Friendship treaty signed in 1950. Nilamber Acharya, Rajan Bhattarai, Suryanath Upadhyaya will be representing Nepal while Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Jayanta Prasad, BC Upreti and Mahendra P. Lama constitute the EPG team from India.The EPG-NIR is a joint mechanism of Nepal and India and was set up in February last year to give necessary suggestions to update all existing bilateral treaties and agreements.The organisation's first meeting was held in Kathmandu in July and the second meeting in New Delhi in October last year.
