Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017: BJP Looks Set For Sixth Term, Congress Puts up a Tough Fight

As per trends of Zee News at 9:50 AM, the saffron party was leading on 94 seats while Congress ahead on 86 seats. According to Election Commission, the BJP was leading on 73 seats while the Congress on 56 as per trends of 132 seats of 182-seat Gujarat Assembly.

Ahmedabad, Dec 13: Gujarat Assembly elections 2017 will see Ellis Bridge, Naranpura, Nikol, Naroda, Thakkarbapa Nagar Assembly constituencies enter into a tough contest as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC) fight it out to win the seats. Ellis Bridge, Naranpura, Nikol, Naroda, Thakkarbapa Nagar Assembly constituencies fall under Ahmedabad Lok Sabha constituency and will go to polls on December 14, in Phase 2 of Gujarat Assembly elections 2017. Apart from the BJP and the INC, the seats will witness competition between several independent, national and regional parties too.

Ellis Bridge

Constituency number 44, Ellis Bridge, will go to polls on December 14. The BJP has fielded Shah Rakeshbhai Jaswantlal from the seat whereas, the Congress has announced Dave Vijaykumar Ratilal as its candidate. The BSP candidate from the seat is Solanki Malabhai Hirabhai. The seat is currently held by the BJP’s Rakesh Shah who had defeated INC’s Kamleshkumar Babulal Shah in 2012 Gujarat Assembly elections. The results on this seat will be announced on December 18.

Naranpura

Constituency number 45, Naranpur, will go to polls on December 14. The seat is currently held by BJP candidate Amit Shah who had defeated Dr Jitubhai B Patel of the Congress in the 2012 Gujarat Assembly elections. This time, the BJP has fielded Patel Kaushikbhai Jamnadas and the Congress had declared Patel Nitinbhai Kantibhai as their candidate from the seat. The BSP has announced Vaghela Ravi Khengarbhai. The results of the seat will be announced on December 18.

Nikol

Constituency number 46, Nikol, will go to polls on December 14. In the Gujarat Assembly elections 2017, the BJP has fielded Jagdish Panchal whereas, the Congress has declared Gohil Indravijaysinh and BSP has announced Paramar Rameshbhai Govindbhai as its candidate. The results for the seat will be announced on December 18. It is currently held by BJP’s Panchaljagdish Ishwarbhai who had defeated Congress’s Ghori Narsinhbhai Jayrambhai in 2012 Assembly polls.

Naroda

Constituency number 47, Naroda, will go to polls on December 14. From the seat, the BJP has fielded Thawani Balram Khubchand and the Congress has announced Tiwari Omprakash Darogaprasad. The seat is currently held by Nirmalaben Sunilbhai Wadhwani of the BJP. Bharwad Bhavanbhai Surabhai of the INC was defeated during 2012 Assembly elections. Results for Naroda will be announced on December 18.

Thakkarbapa Nagar

Constituency number 48, Thakkarbapa Nagar, will go to polls on December 14. From the seat, the BJP has fielded Kakadiya Vallabhbhai Gobarbhai and the Congress has announced Babubhai Mavjibhai Mangukiya. BSP has declared Panara Pradipkumar Vasharambhai as its candidate. The seat is currently held by Vallabh Bhai Gobarbhai Kakadiya of the BJP. Patel Gitaben Pranavkumar of the INC was defeated during 2012 Assembly elections. Results for Naroda will be announced on December 18.
