There’s a reason why she’s nicknamed “the Body.”
Legendary supermodel Elle Macpherson may have swapped the catwalk for the world of wellness — she’s co-founder of WelleCo, a line of supplements — but her latest Instagram photo proves that the 55-year-old former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover star is still ready to model a bikini at a moment’s notice.
The Australian beauty showed off her athletic figure in a bikini — which she paired with a wide-brimmed hat and tousled waves — in the stunning shot, which has friends and fans awestruck.
“You’ve always been ‘the Body’ and you always will be,” a commenter told Macpherson, who earned the nickname after landing a record five Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covers. Her most recent cover turn for the magazine was in 2006.
“Ain’t no one else stealing 'the Body' moniker anytime soon,” added a fan.
Others hailed the mom of two as a “gorgeous goddess” and “timeless beauty.”
“Elle you’re an inspiration for us women in our 50s,” another follower wrote, while many called her “body goals.”
While Macpherson undoubtedly has genetics on her side, she also outlined her fitness, wellness and beauty regimens for anyone interested.
“People ask me what I do to keep in shape,” she captioned her bikini shot, which was taken in the Bahamas.
“First of all I start on the inside,” she shared, plugging her go-to WelleCo supplements and noting that she eats plant-based meals.
“I spend as much time as I can in nature — swimming, walking — and drink loads of filtered water,” she added. “Meditation/reflection/prayer is important to me; it only takes 10 minutes a day but is a non-negotiable.”
Lymphatic drainage and stints in an infrared sauna are also key, she noted.
