Editor slammed for obscene post on Goddess Saraswati
A tweet by professor Dilip Mandal, a former managing editor of India Today, has sparked off fiery outrage on Twitter, the social media microblogging platform.
In a series of tweets, Mandal proclaims that he does not consider Goddess Saraswati the Goddess of Education as she did not open any school or write any book.
While comparing Goddess Saraswati with social reformer Savitribai Phule, Mandal hailed the latter as the 'torchbearer of education'.
The tweet was fine till then as it just promoted one person’s view. However, what infuriated netizens was an utterly obscene and despicable innuendo about the Goddess and Lord Brahma.
Phule J. , Slavery(1991), Govt of Maharashtra Publication pic.twitter.com/r0iTXfi02a

"For me, Mata Savitribai Phule and Fatima Sheikh were the eternal torch bearers of education. Still I stand with Saraswati, as she was sexually exploited by Brahma," he tweeted, passing derogatory remarks at Hindu deities in what has now become a fashionable custom.

He has insulted the hindu sentiments.
Section 295A of IPC says that if someone deliberately outrage the religious sentiments can be punished.
One should file complaint against such acts.#ArrestDilipMandal— Gaurav Goel (@goelgauravbjp) February 16, 2021
In the past too, Mandal, who is a columnist for publications such as BBC and The Print, has made tendentious statements ostensibly to revile Hindu traditions and beliefs.
