Ed Sheeran Concert Tickets: Around 80 Fans Cheated in Mumbai
When the news broke about Ed Sheeran’s concert in India, his fans got super excited. And the concert which was held on last Sunday that’s 19 November 2017 was a huge success. Around ten thousand Sheeran fans were in attendance for the gig at the JIO Gardens, Mumbai and all his fans were super happy but unfortunately, some fans were left stranded outside the venue as they had bought fake tickets. As per Mumbai Mirror report, around 80 Sheerios were duped.
As per reports Republic world report, these fans had resorted to third-party vendors for tickets at the last moment. They had purchased the tickets from an app called Grapevine many months ago. They charged around ten thousand rupees per person. Out of them, some had even flown down from various parts of the country. The person who is allegedly absconding with all the money has been recognised as Vishnu Poddar.
After waiting for hours outside, they contacted BookMyShow who is the official ticketing partner and soon the ticketing scam got busted as they revealed that same the ticket ID has been used for several times. They were given e-tickets and asked them to exchange them with physical ones one day before or on the same day of a concert. And now the duped fans are planning to register a complaint against the scamster.
“We were issued e-tickets and told to exchange the e-ticket at the counter either on the day of the concert or on the day before. We have been following up with them for the last week but since yesterday we have been unable to reach them.” one person told Republic TV.
This is not the first time Ed is here in India for the concert, he had done his maiden Indian concert back in 2015. During that concert, no such issue had come up. The tickets for the latest gig were available since July and were on first come first serve basis and Book My Show made sure that several banners and messages were up to warn people about the fake ticket vendors but still people were deceived. It is very vital to rely only on official sites and people should stay vigilant on every matter as there are crooks to dupe us. What are your views on the whole matter?
