The benefits to developing an eco-friendly lifestyle are endless. Not only are you helping to preserve the planet's natural resources, but you're also ensuring harmful wastes don't end up in possession of those who could suffer from coming in contact with it.

As society adopts to more sustainable habits, brands are playing an active role in producing items that feature recycled materials and other organic matter. If you've longed to make small but meaningful contributions, now is your chance.

Ahead, we found seven great pairs of trainers that boasts some type of eco-friendly ingredient in the construction. Whether its leftover garment samples or natural rubber, check out the options below and celebrate the greenest day of the year with a new pair of kicks.

Perhaps the most widely-known eco-friendly brand, the Allbirds Tree Dasher is manufactured with virtually all recycled material. Enjoy a dual-density midsole made with the world’s first carbon negative green EVA and natural rubber traction pads for increased pronation control and stability.

Earlier this month, ASICS released their plans to create a more sustainable world for both consumers and the planet. They're already adhering to that commitment by the release of the Glideride 2, a recovery trainer with an upper that contains recycled textile originally derived from pre-owned garments and leftover apparel scraps.

With 4.5 stars with nearly 1,700 reviews, it's easy to see why marathon runners love the Hoka One. Enjoy an updated upper made from engineered mesh and full-compression EVA midsole technology as you power through a new PR.

With fresh new colors for spring, consider this a sign to upgrade your trainers. On Running's soles may look peculiar to the naked eye, but they have a number of benefits. According to the brand, Helion superfoam "offers the smoothest of rides, softest of landings and most explosive of take-offs."

These futuristic-looking kicks are made from at least 50% recycled content by weight, recycled polyester, foam, and a Nike Air sole made from at least 75% recycled TPU, making them one of the most eco-friendly shoes on the market.

Adidas has long been on a quest for a more green lifestyle, and the Ultraboost 21 shoes are stunning as they are comfortable. Three Stripes' signature Primeblue, a high-performance recycled material, is used throughout this model. Furthermore, 75% of the textile is Primeblue yarn.

Prefer an Adidas sneaker with a sole closer to the ground? Opt for the Ultraboost 5.0 DNA. It still boasts the same recycled material as the aforementioned pair but with a sole more ideal for jogging across various surfaces.
