Dinosaur-like Creature Found in Uttarakhand, Scientists Baffled (Video)
Scientists have been left shocked after a creature that resembles dinosaur with flesh still on its bones was found in Jaspur, a city in Uttarakhand. The partially-preserved body of the animal was discovered by an electrician cleaning a sub-station that has been untouched for 35 years. While it looks like a small dinosaur, they have been extinct for 65 million years. Scientists are having a hard time trying to identify the animal and its age. While the animal looks like a flightless dinosaur a Conservator with the Indian Forest Service, Dr Parag Madhukar Dhakate said that it would remain an enigma until scientific tests are completed.
Aaryan Kumar, who is pursuing a PhD in Paleontology from Delhi University, told local media that it was impossible to preserve a dinosaur skeleton for so long. Daily Mail quoted him as saying, “Non-avian dinosaurs have been extinct for the past 65 million years but it does resemble theropods, a suborder of dinosaurs which included bipedal carnivores. But a dinosaur skeleton could not have been found in such a well-preserved condition after millions of years without it being in a fossilized state.”

He added saying, “The only even slightly possible way is it was chemically preserved to store it in a museum. But if that was the case, how did it end up here?” Scientists have now sent the corpse for analysis including carbon dating to know its age. It has been sent to Dr Bahadur Kotlia, a palaeontologist at Kumaun University, for historical analysis. The 28cm-long corpse somewhat resembles Deinonychus, the Coelophysis and the Dromaeosaurus.
