The fuel prices have been touching higher and higher scores in India for over 10 days now. The union minister has stated that the Crude production in nations is yet to recover and therefore these price hikes are temporary. Navika Kumar talks to Dharmendra Pradhan, the Petroleum Minister about the problem. He says because of Covid-19 the remand in the world has gone negative. Before Covid, the daily consumption in the world was about 100 million barrels. He says last year in May the OPEC decided to cut off production by 10 percent. Now that the demand is back supply is not yet able to keep up. The OPEC countries therefore have created an artificial crisis in the oil prices to boost their economy.
