·1-min read

Denmark has announced that it would stop using the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine altogether, becoming the first European country to do so over suspected rare but serious side effects. In other news, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration have recommended a “pause” in the use of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine out of an “abundance of caution” while a review of reports of rare, potentially dangerous blood clots is conducted. Apart from the US, South Africa and European Union have also put a temporarily stop on the rollout of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Covid jab over reports of blood clots.
