Delhi's air quality index has once again receded into the poor category. This after Delhi witnessed good air quality for a period of three months. Last time Delhi recorded poor air quality was on June 29th, when the air quality index touched 230.
The overall AQI in Delhi has been at the higher end of the moderate category since last one week. The air quality has deteriorated because of an increase in stubble burning cases along with changes in the weather condition. An unabated stubble burning still continues in parts of Punjab and Haryana. The stubble burning has risen by 5 times.
The farmers state the reason of stubble burning in order to get their voices heard by the Prime Minister, who is in Delhi and is likely to react to the stubble burning.
