Delhi Worries over Covid UK strain; Maharashtra seeks a spike in the Double Mutant Virus

The Covid situation worsens in Delhi and Maharashtra while the Centre says that the no. of UK variant that were discovered in Delhi doubled in the last week of March as compared to the second week. The virus averaged at 24% in the second week and had doubled with more than 50% of the samples of the UK variant in the last week of March. The genome sequence suggest why there has been a spike. Meanwhile in the state of Maharashtra presence of the double mutation virus has outnumbered the UK variant with more than 50% cases being reported of the double mutant.
