A man involved in the supply of weapons in the national capital was arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police on Friday. The Special Cell claimed that the arrested man was unlawfully selling arms.
The person arrested has been identified as Ashish. The police said he is a citizen of Uttar Pradesh.
A tip-off from sources about Ashish coming to Delhi with weapons was received by the police. Police recorded that he had confiscated 35 semi-automatic weapons and 60 rounds of live ammunition from his hands.
In the wee hours, the arrest was made as police pursued a tip-off that Ashish was going to carry illicit weapons to the national capital. The police said a trap had been laid and Ashish had been arrested.
