Delhi Police reprimanded by court for 'casual' response to FIR filed against Jaipur Golden Hospital

On Tuesday, a local court chastised Delhi Police for presenting a status report in a "casual" manner in a plea seeking directives to register a FIR against Jaipur Golden Hospital administration for the claimed deaths of Covid-19 patients owing to an oxygen shortage. The court offered the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) one last chance to file the status report, describing it as a "very sensitive topic." Otherwise, the court would take the appropriate legal action. On the intervening night of April 23-24, as many as 25 severely sick patients died at the hospital as it purportedly awaited the oxygen supply to be restored, six family members of the deceased attended the court.
