Delhi Police arrests actor Deep Sidhu over Republic Day violence

Punjabi celebrity-turned-activist Deep Sidhu has been arrested by the Delhi Police today in connection with the Republic Day violence that occurred during the farmers' tractor rally in the national capital. Earlier, his name had been included in an FIR filed regarding the incident that occurred at the Red Fort on 26 January. Sidhu was allegedly responsible for hoisting the Nishan Sahib at the Fort and was seen at the forefront of the farmers’ protest that started in November 2020 against the three new farm laws introduced by the Centre. He is also one of the prime accused of inciting violence on Republic Day.
