Delhi HC dismisses Chirag Paswan’s plea, refused to interfere in Speaker’s decision

Chirag Paswan had moved the Delhi High Court challenging the decision of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to recognize Pashupati Paras as the leader of the party in the House. However, the court rejected his plea on Friday. Paras was sworn in as a cabinet minister on Wednesday. Chirag also opposed this. Regarding Paswan's petition, Justice Rekha Palli of the Delhi High Court said, "I do not see any merit in this petition." It is noteworthy that the court also wanted to impose fine on Chirag Paswan in this case, but after the request of his lawyer, he did not do so.
