Delhi gets first genome sequencing lab, Sequencing to begin in 6 to 8 weeks

Delhi's first genome sequencing lab was inaugurated at Lok Nayak Hospital and will begin sequencing in about 6-8 samples a week. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated this lab. This lab has been created in view of the preparations for the third wave of Corona. Two labs set up by the Delhi Government. The Central government has set up in January about 10 labs and by June there were about 28 genome sequencing labs. Around 30,000 samples have been tested so far since January, but now with the setting up of these more genome sequencing labs, the central government believes that they will be able to speed up the process of genome sequencing.
