New Delhi, Dec. 23 (ANI): Hundreds of irate residents, mostly women accompanied by lawyers, gathered outside the Saket District Court complex on Sunday.
They staged a mass protest against the recent incident of Delhi gang rape incident, demanding speedy trail and stringent punishment for the accused.
The protestors reached the court premises but the police deployed at the complex refrained them from entering.
Earlier in the day, three of the six accused in case refused to undergo test identification parade (TIP) and consequently they were sent to Tihar Jail on judicial custody till January 6.
Amid a wave of protests across the country against the incident, the Bar Association at Saket District Court passed a resolution urging advocates not to represent or take up the portfolio in defence of any accused in the case as they have committed 'inhuman' crime.
The 23-year-old paramedical student, who was gang raped and tortured on a moving bus on last Sunday and dumped on the roadside near Mahipalpur flyover here, is currently battling for her life at the Safdarjung Hospital in the national capital. (ANI)
