Delhi: Domestic Help Held For Rs 22 lakh Theft at BJP MP Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar Singh’s House
New Delhi, Oct 18: Delhi Police has arrested the cook of BJP MP Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar Singh for allegedly stealing Rs 22 lakh from his residence at Mahadev Road in Delhi. The police arrested the accused with the help of his footprint and recovered Rs 21 lakh, 92 thousand and seven hundred.
Rajkumar alias Raju was arrested him from Moradabad after MP Singh’s son Kunwar Sushant Singh filed a complaint of a theft on October 9. “In his complaint, he informed police that someone broke the locks of his Delhi residence and stole the amount. A case was registered at Parliament Street police station,” DCP (New Delhi district) BK Singh was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
Following the complaint, a forensic team was also called in. The washerman and watchman were also questioned by the police. BK Singh said that the police started scanning the CCTV footage. In the CCTV footage, they found a man carrying a bag on his shoulder. He was later identified by the complainant as their cook.
Raju was arrested. He revealed that he went to Moradabad along with the MP on September 27 and stole keys to his residence. Raju came back to Delhi on October 6 and barged into the MP’s residence. He even left a rope hanging to the window to confuse the police. After stealing the amount, Raju went back to Moradabad and hid it in a plastic box.
