Delhi: Daily COVID-19 caseload crosses 8,000 mark; highest single day spike recorded

The coronavirus pandemic continues to threaten the lives of Delhiites even after the lockdown has been partially lifted and things were getting back to normalcy. In a recent report, the COVID cases in Delhi have now crosses the 8,000 mark with 8,593 new cases registered and 85 deaths recorded in the national capital in the past 24 hours. The total COVID death tolls is 7,228.

The active COVID cases in the city stand at 42,659 and with the upcoming festive season, the number of cases can increase due to the risk of crowding in markets for shopping. The high court has questioned the Kejriwal government for its decision of relaxing norms regarding public gatherings.
