Delhi Court acquits accused in North East Riots case; says investigation was way short than needed

A Delhi court acquitted Suresh and the sole accused in the North East Delhi Riots Case which took place in February 2020 after the Anti-CAA protests turned violent in the area. This is the first verdict by the Delhi Court in one of the many cases that were registered during that time. The Delhi Court has observed that the testimonies of the witnesses do not corroborate and that the testimonies are contradictory in nature, thus allowing acquittal to Suresh, who was accused of rioting and unlawful assembly. The Delhi court also pulled up the Delhi Police, observing that the investigation was way short of what was needed in this case. Stay tuned for more.
