Delhi air quality deteriorates as stubble burning continues, yet no assistance provided to farmers

Year after year the pollution in Delhi worsens and this year is no different. The stubble burning has deteriorated the air quality further by 19 to 22% and is likely to decline in quality.

Whilst the residents of the capital are gasping for fresh air, Centre and State are engaged in political blame game.

Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, has commented that if all governments work together in tandem then the pollution can be taken care of in the coming four years.

Stubble burning is prominent in Northern India and no assistance, in terms of machinery or otherwise, is being provided to the farmers and therefore they have been resorting to burn the stubble off.
