Delhi air pollution peaks ahead of Diwali along with spike in COVID-19 cases | Ground Report

The state of air pollution in Delhi continues to worsen. The air quality continues to remain under the 'very poor' category. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) clocked at 326 (‘very poor’ category), according to the Ministry of Earth Science's air quality monitor, System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
According to the data shared by the Central Pollution Control Board, the AQI was recorded at 375 in Anand Vihar, 358 in Bawana, 320 in Mathura Road, 340 in Dwarka Sector 8, all falling under the ‘very poor’ category.
This is happening along with the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases. More than 100 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.
