Deepika Padukone slams pregnancy rumours: It will happen when it has to happen
Deepika Padukone tied the knot with Ranveer Singh in November last year. The couple dated for almost six years before taking their relationship to the next level.
After Deepika and Ranveer's marriage, pregnancy rumours kept cropping up. But, this time, in a recent interview with a news portal, the actress slammed such speculations. She said, "It will happen when it has to happen."
She added, "Motherhood trumps being married. That's what I hear from people who have had children."
In the interview, Deepika also stated that women should not be pressured for getting pregnant after marriage. She said, "Of course, it will happen at some point but no, I think it is unfair to put women through that, to put a couple through that."
She added, "I guess the day we stop asking the questions is when we will bring about change."
Deepika is currently shooting for Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak. The film is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The actress took to social media to unveil her look in the film.
"A character that will stay with me forever... #Malti. Shoot begins today! #Chhapaak. Releasing - 10th January, 2020," she announced in an Instagram post.
