From Deepika Padukone’s Padmavat To Prabhas’ Saaho: 5 Bollywood Films That Promise 2018 Will Not Be As Disappointing As 2017

What does Bollywood have in store for us in 2018?

If you were to talk about Bollywood films that made good money at the box office and also won a good word by the critics and fans, you would not find more than a handful of them. Thanks to Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Tiger Zinda Hai, the year in Bollywood doesn’t seem a disastrous one anymore. Films like Fukrey Returns, Golmaal Returns and smaller films like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Tumhari Sulu, Hindi Medium amongst others, kept us entertained while making steady profits on the ticket windows.

As we enter into 2018, here’s hoping that the year isn’t as disappointing as the year gone by. And we have some interesting projects out there that promise to give us at least some hits that will save the day for Bollywood in 2018. Be it the star, or the director or the story – these films have what it takes to ensure bums on seats in theatres and set the cash registers ringing. Check out our top 5 most promising films of the upcoming year.

It has been one of the most awaited films of last year and irrespective of when it release, it will be a sell-out. Fans of Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have been waiting for the film to release and the frenzy will ensure that the film is a box office smasher! Aiyaary: Directed by Neeraj Pandey, who has given us content-driven edge of the seat dramas like Baby, Rustom, Special 26, A Wednesday and more, comes with Aiyaary on January 26, 2018. The trailer has already left cine-buffs looking for more and there is no doubt that the film will be a fitting release to clash with Akshay Kumar’s Padman which is also a Republic Day 2018 release.

Sanju: Sanjay Dutt is one of the most controversial actors in Bollywood. His life has been like an open book, however, his side of the story, his challenges and emotional journey remains unknown. Ranbir Kapoor and Rajkumar Hirani have united to bring alive Dutt’s story alive on the big screen in Sanju. RK’s look as Dutt already has fans waiting to see what more he has in store for us. Saaho: Prabhas won hearts and a lot of fans when his Baahubali : The Conclusion released in 2017. Now, his next film – Saaho, which is an action thriller and also being made in Hindi, is one of the most awaited ones. The actor has trained for months to get the desired body for the role of a flying squad cop and is also doing some death-defying stunts sans any body double. He is aiming at wooing and wowing audience once again and we are positive that he will.

Amitabh Bachchan in his Thugs look

Thugs Of Hindostan: Aamir Khan last regaled us on the big screen in Dangal in 2016 and then in an extended guest appearance in Secret Superstar in 2017. However, in both the films he took a step back and let the female leads in the film shine under the arc lights. In Thugs Of Hindostan, we hear he is all set to wow us with yet another physical transformation. We already know how invested Aamir is in the characters he plays, and with the look set to impress audience, we can just expect a great movie experience in Diwali 2018 when the film hits screens on 7 November. Not only him, Amitabh Bachchan too is set to play a never seen before character in thus one. ALSO READ: Ajay Devgn Set To Co-produce Total Dhamaal
