Cyclone Yaas: No much damage to electrical infrastructure, says Odisha Special Relief Commissioner

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), May 26 (ANI): Odisha Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena on May 26 said that the cyclonic storm ‘Yaas’ has not created much damage to electrical infrastructure. However, a close watch has been kept on wind velocity and damage in Mayurbhanj. Pradeep Kumar Jena said, “As per latest report, they have already evacuated more than 1.05 lakh people and it's going on... We are keeping a close watch on wind velocity and damage in Mayurbhanj. We have seen large-scale uprooting of trees. The roads are being cleared continuously. There has not been much damage to electrical infrastructure in Jajpur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts. The restoration process started and electricity department also started safety checks of feeders. The adequate teams are available on field for road clearance and restoration.”
