The western coastline of India is bracing itself for Cyclone Tauktae, which has now intensified into an ‘Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm’. Maharashtra region is experiencing heavy rainfall and Mumbai is ready to face the effects of the cyclone. The cyclonic storm is likely to lash the coast of Gujarat with high intensity, and wind speeds are expected to touch 185 kmph. The weather department located the ‘eye of the storm’ centred near 19.2°N/71.5°E, around 182 kilometres south-southeast of Diu and 142 kilometres west-northwest of Mumbai.
