Crude oil futures slump on low demand

New Delhi, Jun 24 (PTI) Crude oil futures on Wednesday dropped 0.68 per cent to Rs 3,045 per barrel as participants trimmed their positions on low demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for July delivery fell by Rs 21, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 3,045 per barrel with a business volume of 4,346 lots.

Crude oil for August delivery was quoting lower by Rs 22, or 0.71 per cent, at Rs 3,072 per barrel with an open interest of 75 lots.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 0.79 per cent lower at USD 40.05 per barrel, while Brent crude quoted 0.42 per cent lower at USD 42.45 per barrel in New York. PTI RUJ RVK
