Crude oil futures rise on spot demand

New Delhi, Jul 9 (PTI) Crude oil prices rose Rs 65 to Rs 5,488 per barrel on Friday, as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for the July delivery traded higher by Rs 65, or 1.2 per cent, to Rs 5,488 per barrel in 6,007 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in the futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded higher by 0.80 per cent to USD 73.52 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 0.66 per cent up at USD 74.61 per barrel in New York. PTI SHW HRS hrs
