CRPF dog bitten by snake while on duty

A sniffer dog named 'Crockett' of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was bitten by a snake in Sukma, Chhattisgarh on Saturday during a routine IED detection operation and was later rushed to the hospital. Crockett was given anti-venom serum, his condition is stable and he is currently under observation. Earlier this month, in a similar incident another sniffer dog named 'Cracker' was killed and his handler injured in a Naxal triggered IED blast in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. The incident took place when on Saturday when CRPF defused two kilograms of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Polampalli village of the Sukma district.
