CPM Ideology Defunct, No Answers for Job Creation: Rahul in Kerala

Addressing a rally in Kerala’s Kozhikode, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, 14 March, lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said unlike him and the BJP, the the Congress listens to everyone and does not impose anything upon the people.

Hitting out at Modi, the Congress president said the job of the Prime Minister was not to impose his 'Mann ki Baat', but to listen to the Mann ki Baat' of the people.

Gandhi alleged that Modi had destroyed all institutions of the country.

“So the man who imposes his Maan Ki Baat is attacking all the institutions in this country one after another,” he said.

‘CPM Has No Answer for Job Creation’

The Congress president also hit out at the ruling CPM-led government in Kerala, saying they have “no answer” for job creation. He asked where the party was during the Kerala floods and what they had done for the affected families.

"“I want to ask the CPM where they were when Kerala was facing floods. I want to ask CPM what they did for the 10,000 families affected by floods. The only thing the CPM is capable of doing is acting violently. When it comes to job creating, the CPM has no answer.”" - Rahul Gandhi, Congress President

He asserted that it will take more time for the CPM to realise that their ideology was “defunct.”

"“I think it is going to take some more time for the CPM to realise that their ideology is defunct. They are grasping at straws.”" - Rahul Gandhi, Congress President

‘Modi Govt Laughs When Farmers Ask for Loans’

He also referred to farmer suicides in Kerala and said when farmers ask for loan waivers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance minister Arun Jaitley "laugh at them."

Earlier in the day, Gandhi accused Modi of ignoring the voices of farmers, fisherfolk and small entrepreneurs and claimed the BJP-led NDA government listened only to industrialists like Anil Ambani and Nirav Modi.

Gandhi visited the families of Kripesh and Sarath Lal, the two youth Congress activists who were brutally killed, allegedly by CPI(M) workers, last month.

He also met the parents of slain youth Congress worker Shohaib at the Kannur airport.
