CPI(M) women's wing workers clash with police in Kolkata

Kolkata, Feb 9 (PTI) Activists of the women's wing of the CPI(M) on Tuesday clashed with the police during the organisations march to the headquarters of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) to press for their demands including jobs and security for women.

The clash ensued when All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA) workers tried to break the barricades in front of the KMC headquarters and the police resisted their attempt.

Several AIDWA activists were taken into custody.

Senior CPI(M) leader Md Salim condemned the manner in which the police used force against the Left workers. PTI dc NN NN
