In the wake of multiple studies that have found little to no use of convalescent plasma in treating COVID-19, revised guidelines were issued by the All India Institute of Medical Science/ Indian Council of Medical Research (AIIMS/ ICMR)-COVID-19 National Task Force/Joint Monitoring Group. According to these guidelines, convalescent plasma therapy has been dropped by the government in its protocol for the treatment of COVID-19. Dr. Naveet Wig, HOD Medicine, and AIIMS COVID Taskforce Chairman explains that plasma therapy is useful only in certain conditional cases.
