COVID spurts in India; lockdown and stricter restrictions likely to be imposed in states

As India records the highest single-day vaccine coverage with more than 36.7 lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours, 81,466 new Covid-19 cases were also reported in the past 24 hours tallying to the biggest single-day rise in six months.
