New Delhi, Aug 23 (ANI): As India is reeling under the threat of COVID-19 cases. However, recovery rate continued to improve. The recovery rate has improved to 75 per cent with 23,10,922 people overcoming the deadly virus. The number of active cases in India stands at 7,09,157. According to Ministry of Health, India's total recoveries now exceed the total active cases by nearly 16 lakhs. State wise, 10,441 new COVID-19 cases and 258 deaths reported in Maharashtra on August 23, taking the total number of active cases to 1,71,542. Karnataka reported 5,938 cases (2,126 in Bengaluru), 4,996 discharges and 68 deaths on August 23, taking the number of total cases to 2,77,814 so far. 5,975 new COVID-19 cases, 6,047 recoveries and 97 deaths were reported in Tamil Nadu on August 23 which took active caseload to 53,541. Delhi reported 1,450 new active COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths in the last 24 hour. Total number of active cases stands at 11,778.
