At a time when India is tackling the second wave of COVID-19 and reeling under the threat of the third wave, it is now being reported that a 143% jump has been recorded in the COVID cases in children. The second wave of the pandemic has impacted children and adolescents as well and especially in Karnataka. The experts stated earlier that the third wave will impact the children more, however, the unforeseen threat of this wave was largely ignored. Prime Minister Modi has now asked officials to examine the crisis. The reports are coming in majorly from Delhi, Uttarakhand and Karnataka. The Health Ministry in its briefing yesterday addressed this issue and stated that since the children are mostly asymptomatic, it becomes a little difficult to give them proper treatment.
