COVID-19 India: Cases declining; Lowest rise recorded in the last 44 days

With India recording 1.86 lakh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the country saw the lowest rise in cases in the last 44 days. The death toll, however, has been climbing up steadily. India has been grappling with the second wave of the virulent virus in the past couple of months. The healthcare system of the nation was overburdened and there was severe shortage of medical supplies including medical oxygen, hospital beds as well as medical staff. Although there has been a decline in positive cases in the last few weeks, the larger battle against the pandemic is far from over.
