COVID-19: Government waives import duty on Remdesivir; Curb brought in to manage the case load

In the latest development with respect to the essential drugs required to treat COVID-19, it is reported that the government has waived off import duty on Remdesivir which is used for treating COVID-19 patients. Several states have accused the centre for not supplying the Remdesivir drug to them and for not managing the case load. The question now lies is how will it help in boosting the supply of Remdesivir in India and ensuring that all the states have a requisite supply to cater to the increasing case load. Several states have complained for the shortage of the anti-viral drug.
