Kejriwal Says Over 1,500 Evacuated From Nizamuddin Markaz, Seeks Action Against Organisers
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, 31 March, said 1,548 people have been evacuated from Nizamudddin Markaz in Delhi of which 441 were hospitalised after they showed coronavirus symptoms, PTI reported.
In a digital press conference, the chief minister said 1,107 people, who attended religious congregation in Nizamudddin West, have been quarantined.
He said that out of 97 cases of coronavirus in the city, 24 were those who took part in the congregation earlier this month.
Kejriwal slammed the organisers of the religious gathering saying it was "highly irresponsible" on their part to hold such an event at a time when thousands have died in other countries due to the pandemic.

24 People Present at Markaz, Nizamuddin Test Positive: Health Min
Satyendar Jain, Delhi Health Minister said, “24 people who were present at the Markaz building, Nizamuddin have tested positive for coronavirus, so far,” reported ANI.
“We are not certain of the number but it is estimated that 1,500-1,700 people had assembled at Markaz building. 1,033 people have been evacuated so far — 334 of them have been sent to hospital and 700 sent to quarantine center,” he added.
A team of South Municipal Corporation of Delhi has been called to sanitise the entire area.

68-Yr-Old Passes Away in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram
“A 68-year-old man who had been tested positive for coronavirus passed away early morning today. He suffered kidney failure,” said Medical Superintendent, Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, reported ANI.
