COVID-19: Chhattisgarh logs 295 new cases, 4 deaths

Raipur, Jul 13 (PTI) Chhattisgarh on Tuesday reported 295 new cases of COVID-19 and four more deaths, taking the number of infections to 9,98,565 and the toll to 13,482, a health department official said.

The number of recoveries reached 9,80,933 after 122 people were discharged from various hospitals, while 536 others completed their home isolation during the day, he said.

The state now has 4,150 active cases, the official informed.

Raipur district recorded 21 new cases, taking its caseload to 1,57,452, including 3,134 deaths. Janjgir-Champa registered 31 new cases, Bijapur 29 and Sukma 24, he said.

With 39,831 swab samples examined in the last 24 hours, the total number of tests in the state went up to 1,07,24,532, the official said.

Meanwhile, over 1.06 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to people in all eligible categories in the state till Monday (July 12), officials said.

While 87,23,568 people have received their first jab, 18,78,914 have got both doses, they said.
