COVID-19 cases spike in Maharashtra; Political blame game begins

After Shiv Sena, NCP is now directing its guns at the Bhartiya Janata Party in Maharashtra, over the rise in the number of the COVID-19 cases. Over 6,000 fresh cases were reported in the last 24 hours and close to 820 cases have been reported from Mumbai. 44 deaths have also been recorded in the last 24 hours. Shiv Sena via its mouthpiece earlier today, stated that the BJP forced for the re-opening of the state too soon. NCP has also made a similar claim and has hit out at the BJP. NCP leader Nawab Malik has claimed that the BJP in the state demanded the opening up of places and they are not abiding with the COVID guidelines given by the state. BJP, on the other hand, has claimed that it is the inefficiency of Maharashtra government which led to the rise in the COVID cases.
