16 Apr 2021: COVID-19: Black Caps set to be vaccinated this week

In a major development, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) will provide early vaccinations to the men's team this week.

It is understood that both Ministry of Health and NZC have confirmed the same.

The Black Caps will be getting vaccinated before traveling to England for a two-match series, and the World Test Championship final.

Here are the further details.

Athletes: Early vaccination for athletes

Last month, the New Zealand government said it would allow early vaccinations for athletes so that they can participate in events of "national significance".

On Wednesday, New Zealand started administering vaccinations to the athletes ahead of departure for the Tokyo Olympics.

Notably, more than 200 athletes are expected to represent New Zealand at the upcoming mega event.

Fact: New Zealand cricketers set to travel to UK

New Zealand are due to travel to England for a two-test series. Thereafter, they will face India in the final of the ICC World Test Championship on June 18 at Southampton. Notably, NZ had become the first team to qualify for the WTC final.
