COVID-19: AP logs 3,620 new cases, 41 deaths

Amaravati, Jun 29 (PTI): The number of active coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh came down to 40,074 on Tuesday even as the state registered 3,620 fresh infections.

In the 24 hours ending 9 am today, 5,757 patients had recovered from the infection while 41 more succumbed, according to the latest bulletin.

The gross positives now stood at 18,85,716, recoveries 18,32,971 and toll 12,671, the bulletin said.

East Godavari reported 617, West Godavari 565 and Chittoor 451 new cases in 24 hours.

Kurnool added 44, the lowest in a district in a day in more than three months while Vizianagaram added 95.

The remaining eight districts logged between 100 and 400 fresh cases each.

Chittoor recorded seven fatalities, Krishna six, East Godavari and Prakasam five each, Guntur and West Godavari four each, Srikakulam three, Anantapuramu and Visakhapatnam two each, Kurnool, SPS Nellore and Vizianagaram one each in a day.PTI DBV BN BALA BN BALA
