COVID-19: 430 new cases in Karnataka, 3 deaths

Bengaluru, Feb 5 (PTI) Karnataka reported 430 new cases of COVID-19 and three related fatalities on Friday, taking the total number of infections to 9,41,500 and the death toll to 12,230, the Health department said.

The day also saw 470 patients getting discharged after recovery.

As of February 5 evening, cumulatively 9,41,500 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state, which includes 12,230 deaths and 9,23,377 discharges, the department bulletin said.

It said, out of 5,874 active cases, 5,730 patients are in isolation at designated hospitals and stable, while 144 are in ICU.

A total of over 1,73,68,124 samples have been tested so far, out of which 74,119 were tested today, and 4,564 among them were rapid antigen tests Out of the 430 fresh cases reported on Friday, 217 cases were from Bengaluru Urban alone.

Out of the 3 deaths reported, two are from Bengaluru Urban and one from Dharwad.

Among the districts where the new cases were reported, Bengaluru Urban accounted for 217,Tumakuru 35, Udupi 21, Kalaburagi 20, followed by others.

Bengaluru Urban district tops the list of positive cases, with a total of 3,99,997, followed by Mysuru 53,513 and Ballari 39,172.

Among discharges too, Bengaluru Urban tops the list with 3,91,762, followed by Mysuru 52,316 and Ballari 38,532. PTI KSU BN ADMINISTRATOR BN ADMINISTRATOR
