Couple arrested for snatching mobile phone in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 23 (PTI) A 22-year-old man and his wife were arrested for allegedly snatching a mobile phone in south Delhi's Sainik Farm area, police said on Tuesday.

The accused have been identified as Aash Mohammad and Kajal (20), residents of Sangam Vihar, they said.

Following a complaint, the couple were arrested from near Tigri T-point on MB Road on Monday when they were riding a motorcycle from Batra Hospital to Devli, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi) Atul Kumar Thakur said.

During interrogation, Mohammad admitted that he along with his wife and accomplice Himanshu snatched a mobile phone from the Sainik Farm area on Saturday, the police said.

Mohammad was previously involved in 10 criminal cases. One mobile phone and one bike were recovered from their possession, they said, adding that efforts are underway to nab their associate Himanshu. PTI NIT SMN
