Whenever we hear about disease, all we get are visuals of a weak and fragile body. But have you ever heard about a disease which makes you a superhuman
Seems strange, right! We are talking about a rare condition where a person experiences insensitivity to pain and the condition is called CONGENITAL ANALGESIA.
This is now you know and today in this video, we will tell you why some people feels no pain.
Congenital insensitivity to pain is a rare genetic disorder which happens due to lack or malfunction of mechanical and chemical sensors called nociceptors, which then send information to the brain through the spinal inter neuronal pathways.
People having congenital analgesia cannot feel any kind of physical pain in their bodies but except that they can feel all other sensations like cognitive sensations.
Their bodies can feel the sensation of touch and are also mildly sensitive to extreme differences in temperature.
Pain is very essential for survival and due to lack of this, most people suffering from this condition don't survive adulthood.
Since people with this condition cannot feel pain, they have to face death in very young age due to some common injuries like burns, fractures, hemorrhage, etc as these injuries worsens by time due to the insensitivity.
They may also have many wounds which are self-inflicted, such as excessive biting of their lips, tongue and the inside part of their cheeks.
This condition has No known cause, treatment or cure
This rare extreme condition has affected fewer than one in a million people.
