Coronavirus News LIVE Updates: Goa on Saturday extended its state-level curfew till 7 AM, July 05, said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

Maharashtra on Sunday administered over 7 lakh vaccines to citizens, it’s highest one-day figure. “Today we have achieved another milestone in Covid vaccination in our State. Today till 6 PM we have administered 7,02,432 covid vaccine doses, it is highest ever figure for the State. With this total vaccination till 6 PM today as per dashboard is 3,09,79,469,” said Dr Pradeep Vyas, ACS Health.

Delhi on Saturday reported 85 COVID-19 cases, the lowest registered this year. The capital also saw 158 recoveries and 9 deaths.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a meeting a meeting on the country’s vaccination drive, which is currently underway.

In the past 24 hours, India recorded 48,698 fresh cases and 1,183 deaths in the past 24 hours, as per health ministry data. The total number of cases mounted to 3,01,83,143.

The World Health Organisation said Delta Variant is the “most Transmissible” variant identified so far and warned it is now spreading in at least 85 countries. Rich countries are opening up societies and vaccinating young people who are not at great risk from COVID-19, while the poorest countries cruelly lack doses, the World Health Organization said.

The European Medicines Agency has approved a new manufacturing site for Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine, in a move that should boost production of the one-dose vaccine across the 27-nation EU. The EU drug regulator on Friday said the new site in Anagni, Italy, will finish manufacturing of the J&J vaccine, which was licensed for use in adults across Europe in March.
